Monemvasia Winery Tsimbidi was started in 1997 to revive the production of Malvasia wines in its birthplace. Today Malvasia is produced around the world, particularly in the Mediterranean, but it wasn't being produced in its country of origin, Greece. Monemvasia Winery sought to change that and became the first privately owned 121 hectares of vineyards planted with local varieties. This is a truly Novel winery!
